Hi, I’m Baylie McKnight
BSW, MSW, Registered Social Worker
I am passionate and dedicated to supporting folks living with borderline personality disorder (BPD), complex PTSD, and various mental health, substance use and trauma concerns. I have been volunteering for the BPD Society of BC since 2012 as the Co-founder/President and am comprehensively trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). My therapeutic modalities for counselling integrate DBT, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems. Using a multimodal approach to treatment & drawing on my lived experience, training, and professional knowledge, I’m able to work from a variety of frameworks, including trauma-informed practice, strengths-based, anti-oppressive, polyvagal and attachment theory. With over 15 years of experience working in the human services field, I have had the opportunity to work in various settings in different capacities, including group homes, women's transition houses, street outreach, health authorities, non-profits, groups, youth centres, shelters, peer support, and psychiatric hospitals.
As a therapist who brings warmth, empathy, and validation into each session, I strongly believe in a collaborative approach. I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental, and inclusive space.
Let’s walk together on your healing journey so you can build a life worth living.
is to provide quality, professional, evidence-based clinical services to British Columbians who are living with complex mental health concerns, as well as offering collaborative trauma-informed counselling services through the lens of attachment theory.
